Sir Nicholas! Mister Bloody Baron! Please do control yourselves, you're setting a bad example for the students!

Also, all students who are due to return home soon, would you please meet in my classroom after dinner tonight. All must attend.

It is strange, meeting people from your adolescence after such a long time. I knew a lovely girl from Hufflepuff, her name was Ekenedilichukwu, her parents moved here from Nigeria to run that lovely restaurant just off Diagon Alley, she was a year below me. We used to call her Chuck.

The strange thing is, I never thought I'd see her once we left school. And yet, here we are, eating kebabs. How small the world is! I bumped right into her on my way to Diagon Alley, she is awfully tall. She's just as tall as you, Abime! As it were, she's just come back from working at the Nigerian Ministry, we've got quite a lot to talk about.

She keeps patting my head, it's rather strange.

Good golly, it's Christmas Eve already! It's crept up on us this year, hasn't it? I hope there'll be some ham for Christmas dinner, and some turkey. With cranberry sauce! I'm making myself hungry just thinking about it, I should probably head down to the kitchens soon.

Well, students, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a brilliant New Year. If I don't see you all running around like madmen tomorrow, you can collect your sugar quills (My, you wouldn't believe how happy the chap at Honeydukes looked when I ordered all these sugar quills) from my office when you return from your holiday.

The Christmas decorations don't seem as marvellous as last years. I'll have to go around and make sure Peeves isn't stealing the tinsel again!

Happy birthday to me! Well, happy birthday to me from two days ago, I lost my scroll in a huge pile of essays and paper planes and wasn't able to say anything about it before now. Very well designed paper planes, with great aerodynamics. The first years sure do know their stuff, one of them has been charmed to fly at the wave of a hand, ingenius, I must say! Diggle, I do believe the talented boys name is. Wonderful little chap, looks a bit like a potato but still a nice boy at heart.

The next person to explode a pillow in my class gets to clean up the feathers with a toothpick. They're funny, you know, toothpicks.

Jan has invited me to come with him to Bali during the winter holidays! He's invested in a beachside hotel, and wants to drag me along so we can check it out! Oh, this is a marvellous development!

I'm in Amsterdam at the moment, it's an awfully interesting place. I went into a bakery down the road from my hotel and they were selling these strange looking hash cake things. I wonder if they're an exotic delicacy, or if they're a Dutch pastry. Nevertheless, I'm going to try one while I wait for Jan to come up from Utrech. I wonder what they'll taste like.

I wish all the Seventh Years the best of luck for the future! Hogwarts will not be the same without you!

Abime, I have decided that this year, I'm going on a tour of The Netherlands! Especially Utrech, you should come along if you get time. It'll be marvellous. I know a fellow from there, Jan, he's rather nice, he'll be showing me around. It'll be so exciting.

I've got a joke! Guess how long it takes for me to get out of a locked broom cupboard without my wand?

5 minutes.

I'd just like to ask the person who locked me in to come forward before I start asking portraits who did it. Your detention will be reduced if you come forward.

Oh good gravy! Where did everyone get to this weekend? I was stuck in a tree for the entire weekend, and then when I finally got out there was nobody around, so I tripped and fell into a suit of armour.

I think a bird laid an egg in my hair. Wouldn't that be funny! I'd be a surrogate father for a bird! It would be like "cheep cheep" and I would try to say nice things to it in birdtalk but I might offend it and then it'd fly away. This is why all people should be fluent in birdtalk.

But if I was a surrogate father to the bird, would I have to regurgitate its food?

Hello students! I come bearing the good news.

HOMEWORK.

There are some exercises I wrote up on the board for each year which we didn't get around to answering, for homework I would like you all to answer these questions. One paragraph answers please!

Oh, and Dylan. I saw you on Friday, delivering something to Lisa, how nice of you. Although I now think you may have been wrestling doxies. Such a nice boy.

Back and Black [11 Jan 2007|11:29am]

The Matsés are a very interesting people. They kept getting on the ground and praying every time I walked past. They even tried to give me some of their womanfolk to take back, but I said no when I found out they were already married. Polygamy is a big thing over there.
So is throwing poisonous frogs at people. But it's okay, the swelling went down after a few days. And I've stopped seeing things, which the chief assured me was a good thing.

But I'm back now, and your homework is due.

Aaaah, a nice day for a cuppa, I think. It's Josephs turn to paddle down the river.

I hope you all had a grand Christmas, unfortunately I couldn't send presents as I was bolting down the river on one of those boats with a fan on the back of that.
Then it broke and we had to be rescused by a villager in a small little canoe. We got a little sidetracked going to his village and all, but it was marvellous. I got a few charms out of the wizard there that I'd never heard of before. Charms to ward away those bitey fish and to keep yourself Malaria free.

I have no clue where were are now. All I know is that there are some strange red frogs on the boat.

Aww! It's in my Earl Grey! Blast!

Fedoras and Mosquitos [17 Dec 2006|10:47am]
[ mood | accomplished ]
[ music | Joseph talking! ]

I can't write for long, my guide (who I have dubbed "Joseph" because I can't pronouce his name for the life of me) says we've got to be off if we want to be out of Manaus by midday.

The marvellous thing is, I managed to get the Ministry to pay for all of this. Fedoras and all. All I have to do is find some remote village in the middle of the Amazon Basin, find a wizard and see if they've got anything to teach us about charms and such. Thing is, we don't know if Joseph here will speak their language or not.

He wants to go somewhere around Iquitos, which should be fun. His people are around there, apparently.

Dorcas, if you do end up coming here, do NOT eat at Manaus Inn. They didn't even have Earl Gray! I guess I shall have to use my own supplies, I knew bringing my tea set was a good idea. I just hope the china doesn't break...

Tis the season to be jolly [12 Dec 2006|05:03pm]

Good Gravy! I keep losing this thing, I must keep it somewhere that will not become flooded with papers. That may just be a little bit hard, considering my office...

Anyway, a good seasons greetings to you all, I wish you all the best of holidays, I shall be off in my lovely home in Glasgow! If any of you are in the area, I demand you come and visit!

Christmas soon! I don't think I shall go home this Christmas, can I please get the names of my dear Ravenclaws who will be staying this year for Christmas break?

...I just walked into the strangest room on my way to my office. It was full of ribbons and pillows and fairies. It was magical. And now I can't find it again!

My fifth years, you'll have to excuse me. I seem to have fainted in my office, but it's okay. To catch up the on missed work, just read Chapter 23 of 1000 reasons you should never charm your body. And write a 1 foot summary on it. Due Wednesday

Would all Ravenclaws and visitors to Ravenclaw Tower please steer clear of the Seventh year girls dormitories as the castle repairs itself. This would be greatly appreciated.

Not that there should be visitors to the dormitories anyway.

And on another note, I have found a ... a collar in the corridor. The owner can come pick it up from my office and explain why they are in possession of such a collar.
